Vessel Traffic Service Houston/Galveston has stood down from the WATCH PHASE of the High-Water Action Plan due to the Sheldon Rd. gauge indicating water levels below 6 FT and reported currents in the San Jacinto River below 2 MPH.

Vessel Traffic Service Houston/Galveston has implemented the WATCH PHASE of the High-Water Action Plan due to the Sheldon Rd. gauge reaching 6 FT. Mariners are advised that strong currents may be present in the Upper Houston Ship Channel in the vicinity of the San Jacinto River, as well as area bayous, and adjoining waterways.

Mariners are advised to prepare their fleets for high water and strong currents, taking appropriate precautions for fleeting operations and to consider these conditions before beginning or continuing their transits.
