At 1800 (local) 03 May 2024, The San Jacinto River is in the Major Flood stage with Sheldon flood gage reading above 15 feet. A 4 MPH current has been measured below the I-10 Bridge.

The following additional VTS traffic measures are in effect:

-No meeting or overtaking on the Houston Ship Channel between lights 126 and 129.

-Tows will maintain 1,000 yard between Morgan’s Point and HSC LT 129.

The prior VTS Traffic Measures remain in effect:

-VTS Area has been extended to 1,000 yards above and below the I-10 bridge.

 

-No tows with barge transits under the I-10 Bridge without specific prior approval by VTS.

 

-No tows with barge transits in the San Jacinto River above I-10, upriver to Lake Houston.

 

-No meeting or overtaking in the San Jacinto River, from the mouth of the river to River Buoy 4.

 

-No tows with barge transits into the San Jacinto River without confirmed dock space.

 

-No push-ins for fleeting on the San Jacinto mudbank unless confirmed by VTS.
