Vessel Traffic Service Houston-Galveston is experiencing degraded VHF-FM communications below Houston Ship Channel Lighted Buoy’s 25/26, due to equipment failure. Mariners are advised to continue contacting VTS through standard frequencies (VHF-FM CH05A, 11, 12, 13, 21A). Ships transiting inbound from sea may be unable to reach VTS Houston-Galveston via VTS VHF standard frequencies and should contact the VTS Watch Supervisor at 281-464-4837 to check in. Mariners should make voice reports at all VTS check in locations until the equipment casualty is resolved.
