Subject: Recission of Current High Water Restriction

Good afternoon, Captain Wattigney.

According to the Vessel Traffic Center (VTC), the river stage at the Carrollton gage is currently holding steady at 12’, is predicted to fall below 12’ by tomorrow morning and subsequently continue to fall.  Consequently, the Board of Examiners for NOBRA (“BOE”) will rescind its current High Water Safety restriction, as outlined in correspondence sent to you on April 6, 2023, at 0600 tomorrow morning, Thursday, April 20, 2023.  Specifically, the current restriction states “all mooring and unmooring operations at all mid-stream transfer facilities and any berth that requires the use of a mooring boat shall be restricted to daylight hours.”  In the event the river stage does not fall below 12’ by tomorrow morning at 0600, with a continued prediction of a steady fall, we will re-evaluate the recission and I will keep you abreast of any changes.

Please advise NOBRA dispatch and any other applicable party of the recission. Thank you for your cooperation.  Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Capt. Casey E. Clayton, President
