Due to oil spill cleanup efforts in Texas City Industrial Canal from Texas City Dock 40 to the Texas City Turing Basin, Vessel Traffic Service Houston Galveston advises vessels to contact Vessel Traffic Service and Port of Texas City Harbor Master prior departing or entering the affected area. Vessels entering the area risk contamination and will be subject to Coast Guard inspection prior to departure.
All other vessels currently in the Industrial Canal are not allowed to depart as per MSU Texas City until inspections for oiling can be completed in the daylight hours of 2/7/24.
