National Weather Service forecast calls for strong NE winds and elevated seas to remain in place over coastal waters tonight and possibly extend through Saturday afternoon. Rain chances continue to increase with unsettled weather expected through the weekend. With a warm moist air mass settling over the area, sea fog could develop as early as Sunday morning with any breaks in rainfall.
In anticipation of forecasted weather conditions, The previously approved Category I Channel Closure of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) for dredge operations in vicinity of Mile Marker 349 times have been updated to coincide in order to take advantage of this window when vessel traffic in reduced due to prevailing weather conditions.
